Celebrity Bunnies!

Beginning in August, over two hundred private, intimate, and often R-rated photos of celebrities—the vast majority of them women—were released to the public.  The photos seem to have been taken from Apple iCloud and shared in a celebrity nude photo trading ring on the message board web site, 4chan.  Responses have varied, from the joyful masses of downloaders eager to get their hands on these exclusive images of their favorite stars, to outrage from the celebrities themselves and women’s rights activists who denounce the Internet’s enthusiasm over the violation of privacy.

 

Kate Upton, like Jennifer Lawrence, was part of the initial leak. Dozens of photos of the actress were leaked, in all stages of undress. Some even featured her boyfriend, Justin Verlander, a player for the Detroit Tigers. Kate responded through her lawyer, who said, “This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton’s privacy. We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible.”
